Dr Mardiana I. Ahmad obtained her BTech degree in Environmental Technology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (University Science of Malaysia) in 2003, Masters in Environmental Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia) in 2006 and PhD in Engineering Science (Sustainable Energy Technologies) from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom in 2011. She had experience of working in industry after her graduation in 2003 until 2005. She joined USM as an academic staff in 2011 and then promoted to Senior Lecturer in Energy and Environmental Technology under School of Industrial Technology. She is a member of Institution of Engineering &Technology (IET) UK and a member of World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET).
She has significant experience in the field of environmental management, risk assessment as well as renewable and sustainable energy technologies, particularly in energy recovery technology, solar photovoltaic, desiccant dehumidification and integrated building design/system.
She has attracted over USD 2,403,488 (MYR 8,000,000) in research funding from internal and external parties as principal investigator and co-investigator since 2011. She has published over 50 articles and publications nationally and internationally, including research books, popular books, book chapters, conference proceedings and journal papers since 2005.
